Growing up in Texas, where big means BIG, the road to nutrition and fitness did not come easily for Anita. Think unlimited soda refills, lunch buffets, four-course Indian meals, all you can eat pizza for $7.99 (Thanks Cici’s!). As a result, food (in large quantities and portions) had always been a part of her life. The key—and the hard part—was gaining control. Through the years, she found herself falling into an unhealthy cycle of eating patterns. In 2008, all her unanswered questions led her to apply  to NYU’s dietetic and master’s program in Clinical Nutrition. Once accepted, she knew that she had found her calling. Anita also has fitness credentialing in indoor cycling and group fitness exercise. Her certifications opened the door to teach a variety of group fitness exercise classes at gyms such as NYSC, Crunch, and NYHRC.

Over the years, Anita’s experience went from local to global. She helped launch India’s first ever Greek yogurt in 2015. As a result, she began working with a variety of food start-ups to help them create and launch “health-focused” products. In addition, due to her own life experiences, Anita developed a passion for women’s health and intuitive eating. She loves working with women in all phases of life cycle. She loves to cook and bake and is always experimenting!

Anita currently lives in NYC with her husband and two energetic and active sons. When she is not trying to plan their next excursion outdoors, she can be found biking around (indoors and outdoors), organizing Marie Kondo style, or meal prepping. There is always something yummy in her fridge!
