How did you get into nutrition?

What does your ideal day off look like?

General healthy eating, weight loss, relationship with food and disordered eating, diabetes and pre-diabetes, and heart health

I got into nutrition sort of by accident. I was a biology major in college, but I felt I wasn't clicking with it. I knew that I loved science and wanted to continue my studies in that area. On the advice of a friend, I took a nutrition course and really enjoyed it! The following semester I switched my major to nutrition and dietetics.

My ideal day off involves a combination of a bike ride and beach time. I love biking in the Rockaways along the boardwalk and through Belle Harbor. Afterwards, I go to Long Beach to relax and cool off in the ocean. On perfect summer nights my husband and I enjoy dinner on the beach together. It doesn't get much better than that!

My counseling style is empathetic, direct, and empowering. I aim for a collaborative and inclusive environment with my patients - I firmly believe that all foods can be part of a healthy diet and that labeling foods as off-limits only sets us back in our physical and mental health goals.
