How did you get into nutrition?

What does your ideal day off look like?

How would you describe your counseling style?

As a competitive swimmer in high school, I yearned to learn how food could improve my performance. Unfortunately, the information I received from coaches was vague and often left me with more questions than answers. Even as I entered adulthood, I still felt confused by the mixed messages I received from family, friends, and the media about diet and exercise. I eventually decided that enough was enough and pursued a Master’s degree in clinical nutrition. I love that I can now apply evidence-based research to optimize my patients’ (and my own!) health and athletic performance.

After taking an exercise class at my local gym, I’d snuggle up on the couch with a cup of coffee and a good book. I’d cook or bake up a storm in the kitchen and have a movie on in the background. A few favorites include Lord of the Rings (extended edition!), the Harry Potter movies, and anything from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You’d probably find me quoting every line or poking fun at the discrepancies between the movies and the books. Can you tell I’m a proud nerd?

fun fact

I grew up with both Taiwanese and Armenian influences, so I love foods from both cultures. When feeling nostalgic for meals from my childhood, I’m usually in the mood for an eclectic mix of Asian and Middle Eastern foods.
