Background

Ruth got her start as an active duty Registered Dietitian in the US Army. She initially got into nutrition because of her appreciation of how what we eat plays into overall health and wellness. Ruth knew that she wanted to help people and felt drawn to the healthcare field, but her dislike for blood kept her from pursuing the physician/nurse route. One of her favorite parts of being an RD is celebrating her patients’ successes, such as no longer feeling afraid of or controlled by food.

Counseling Style

Ruth’s counseling style is patient-centered and supportive. She always listens to what her patients need and helps them brainstorm individualized solutions to help them meet their goals. Ruth likes to focus on the whole person- her main focus is nutrition but she and her patients talk about mindfulness, sleep, and physical activity too.

Get to know Ruth

In Ruth’s spare time, she loves going for long hikes with her German shepherd mix, Duke, or reading a good book by the fireplace.
