Get to Know Ingrid

Favorite thing to purchase at the Farmer’s Market or Grocery Store: Fresh sourdough, hummus, or a really good dip

Favorite cultural dish or comfort food: Greek food—especially authentic Greek dishes shared around the table. And honestly, nothing beats a really good, authentic slice of pizza!

What’s one small thing someone can do today to work toward a balanced eating pattern/lifestyle?: Add one more nourishing food to something you already enjoy today—like adding fruit to breakfast, vegetables to lunch, or protein to a snack. Small, consistent changes add up!

Nutrition philosophy in a nutshell: Nutrition should fit into your life—not the other way around. I believe in balance, flexibility, and making sustainable changes that support your health while still leaving room for the foods you love.

Favorite recipe: Mexican Mixed Grilled Chicken Salad with Kale and a Honey Lime Dressing

What I listen to for inspiration: Audiobooks—I love listening to them during my daily drives around town.

Nutrition myth or trend you find particularly annoying and would like to set the record straight: “Carbs are bad.” Carbohydrates are an important source of energy and can absolutely be part of a balanced diet. The type, portion, and overall context matter more than simply avoiding carbs. Choose quality carbohydrate sources and find a balance that works for you rather than cutting out an entire food group.
