Alyssa grew up around food, and saw firsthand the pure joy that people experienced when trying her dad’s traditional cooking. Through this experience, she believes that food should bring joy and no guilt should be associated with any food. Our cultural foods should be celebrated. She has worked with a horticulture and culinary arts program at a school for children with special needs in Florida, and worked as a nanny for over five years. Before Culina Health, she traveled to various pediatric clinics around North Carolina providing care for their patients and creating relationships with not just the patient, but also their families. Alyssa also works in weight management and strives to provide HAES (Healthy At Every Size) care in this capacity.
