About Rachel
Rachel grew up in LA and has always had a strong interest in healthy eating and food. She later realized it turned out to be more of an interest in diet culture. As Rachel studied nutrition, she learned there was another side to dietetics and has since shifted to helping people build a healthy relationship with food like she did. Rachel has extensive experience working in all levels of eating disorder treatment (residential, PHP, IOP). She is comfortable working with patients on any part of their journey to food and body acceptance.
Get to Know Rachel
Favorite cultural dish or comfort food: I’ll never say no to sushi!
Go-to morning beverage: Vanilla iced latte, all year round
What’s one small thing someone can do today to work toward a balanced eating pattern/lifestyle?: Eat one food today that you are truly craving. There is nothing more satisfying than meeting a food craving. I would encourage you to acknowledge the satisfaction and fullness this brings, and know fullness is a good thing!
What’s your nutrition superpower?: Building my patient’s interoceptive awareness to empower them to strengthen their mind/body connection.
Nutrition philosophy in a nutshell: My dietitian “hot take” is that I will never question or judge what you eat. I may even say that I don’t care what you eat. I care about how you decide what to eat, what drives your food choices, and how you feel about what you eat. I believe all foods and all bodies have a seat at the table.
Favorite book/TV show/movie: I love all things spooky — any scary, suspenseful movie, show, or book is a yes from me!
