About Tanisa
During her first year of community college, Tanisa completed an introductory Nutrition course. This class impacted her so much that she decided to shift from studying nursing to nutrition. Growing up in a community where healthy eating wasn’t an everyday topic, Tanisa wanted to change the narrative. Throughout her time working as an RD, she has helped her patients incorporate cultural foods into their plans. Tanisa loves counseling patients through sustainable lifestyle change and has been doing it for 17 years!

Grocery shopping tip: Always make a list to avoid impulse purchases.
Go-to morning beverage: Water
Favorite nutrient-packed snack: Hummus with cut up vegetables
A habit you swear by: One habit that I swear by is drinking at least 64oz of water a day. Staying hydrated is crucial to overall health.
Favorite book/TV show/movie: The Color of Water
Nutrition myth or trend you find particularly annoying and would like to set the record straight: Doing a detox diet to clean toxins out of the body. Purchasing products to cleanse the body is not necessary. Focusing on limiting highly processed foods, eating more whole foods, and drinking water is a great way to rejuvenate the body.
