Rachel grew up on a farm in South Carolina where food and cooking were an integral part of her life. After a few too many late nights of pizza and beer in college, Rachel quickly realized how much of an impact food can have on one’s body. Unfortunately, this turned into a harmful obsession with healthy eating. The cycle looked something like this: meal prep on Sunday, eat “perfectly” Monday through Thursday, binge on “bad” foods and drink too much on the weekends. Rinse, repeat. Sound familiar?
It doesn’t have to be this way. After years of struggling to find something that worked for her, she finally came to the realization that all foods can fit in a healthy diet. Rachel now helps clients find a balanced way of eating that doesn’t involve restriction or crazy dieting. Her gentle approach to nutrition will help you reach your goals in a way that is sustainable and focuses on your own innate power to change.
Rachel completed her training at NYU Langone Medical Center and holds a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from NYU. Additionally, she received her BA from the University of Virginia. She specializes in intuitive eating and sustainable weight management, women’s health, culinary nutrition (anything from grocery lists to restocking your pantry to recipe creation), IBD (Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis) nutrition, GI disorders, and prediabetes and diabetes management.
