Makeeda discovered the nutrition and dietetics profession as a teen and has been passionate about it ever since. Raised in a family where plant-based eating was foundational, she developed an early appreciation for cultural foods, traditional growing practices, and the ways food connects communities. Her background in food systems and sustainable urban farming further shapes her holistic approach to nutrition.
Makeeda is committed to translating nutrition science into practical, attainable strategies that support nourishment and improve overall quality of life. She believes food and nutritional health are powerful connectors across cultures and communities worldwide.
Before joining the Culina Health team, Makeeda worked in both inpatient and outpatient care settings, providing nutrition support across short-term therapeutic care, perinatal health, and family nutrition.
