About Kirsten

Kirsten’s passion for nutrition began early in life when she recognized the immense importance of a balanced diet in her success as a competitive swimmer. Dedicated to her performance, and realizing that she wanted to help others feel the same, her interest in nutrition quickly trickled down into all aspects of her life, helping family members and friends adopt healthy eating habits and lifestyles.

Through her personal experience and years of study, Kirsten hopes to raise awareness on how food can be used as medicine to become the best version of you.

At the start of her career, Kirsten worked as a clinical dietitian in a long-term care facility providing personalized nutrition care to older adults. Kirsten looks forward to making meaningful connections with her patients, helping them reach their goals and improve their overall quality of life!

Nutrition philosophy in a nutshell: I am a firm believer that you can enjoy ALL foods in moderation. Portion control is key! Reading food labels and using My Plate visuals can be great tools for making healthy choices.

Nutrition myth or trend you find particularly annoying and would like to set the record straight: That carbs make you gain weight. Ugh! Carbohydrates provide our bodies with energy, and they are essential to any balanced diet. Weight gain is complex and cannot be attributed to any one food or group.
