Having grown up in a Greek-American household and having spent every summer living the Mediterranean lifestyle, Annamaria learned from a young age that food is not just fuel - that it’s a huge part of culture, tradition, and nourishment for the body, mind and soul. After coming back home from summer vacation, Annamaria felt bombarded by contradictory nutrition information in the media. Why did it seem like healthy eating was so natural in the Mediterranean, but so confusing at home?
Having struggled with weight management, acne and GI issues herself, Annamaria became a Registered Dietitian after realizing that our food and lifestyle choices have the power to impact our physical and mental health, as well as prevent and treat chronic disease. Annamaria now uses her expertise to help her clients ditch the diet mentality, optimize their health, and get results that last. She believes that nourishing yourself can be simple, effortless and delicious.
Annamaria received a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics and an MS in Clinical Nutrition from New York University. She completed her dietetic internship through Rutgers University. Annamaria has worked internationally in private practice and corporate wellness, consulting for like-minded health brands. She also hosts nutrition and wellness retreats on the Greek island of Andros.
Annamaria specializes in sustainable weight loss and management, fostering a healthy relationship with food, cardiovascular health, pre-diabetes, disease prevention/management, and family/geriatric nutrition.
In her spare time, you can catch Annamaria dancing, traveling and tasting new recipes and cuisines. Her favorite food is a seafood linguine with a glass of red sangria next to the Aegean sea… and dark chocolate for dessert!
